Guests also get to be involved in lots of the Balinese activities, including Balinese cooking or even Balinese dance.

It should perhaps be added that this resort has also stood the test of time, being the type of resort that gradually develops over time based on the requirements and increasing demands from its guests, though never compromising on its core service.

So to impress on someone and seduce all his or her senses, you have come to the right place if choosing The Laguna Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua Bali.

Guests come to Laguna craving for privacy, for romance as well as for the local culture and overall luxury experience on this unique island of the gods.

What defines the ‘bespoke luxury’ here is the over all seductive setting, attention to detail and quality (service, dining, location and environment working in concert), on which further details now follow.

The exemplary service begins upon arrival with the appointed butler in a characteristic Balinese uniform welcoming and accompanying you to the room, explaining all its facilities in details and all the benefits and services. Balinese ice tea with scented towels has then already been served in the grand open-air lobby.

And would I like coffee or tea served to the room? Yes, indeed, green tea would be nice to help calmness to settle in after the flight, thanks.

While waiting for the butler to return one can savour the extraordinary room and glance out at the swimming lagoon right outside the balcony. This Lagoon Access Room is only steps away from the freeform pool. As its name suggests the resort area boasts lagoon pools and swimming pools, 7 in total covering 5000 square meters.

The room clearly has class and beautifully handcrafted elements such as a Balinese style bed and pieces of art and comes with a warm teak floor. A striking detail in the room is the carved stone wall.

There are also dark brown wooden details while the furniture and curtains come in a bright sandy brown.

A window with separates the combined corner shower and bathtub from the rest of the room. Depending on how you use the Venetian blind you can see through to your partner on either side.

The room also features a 42” large Plasma TV and internet access.

The Butler, dressed in a Balinese uniform, returns in not time and serves the tea. He also offers unpacking of the luggage as well as any dining reservation and laundry service. The service offered is discreet, experienced and balanced, perfectly reading the needs of the guest.

For those who can afford and who want to live the lavish life of a sultan for a few nights there are also such choices that will satisfy what guests crave for

Among the upper levels of accommodation a truly exceptional experience is guaranteed and it would probably not be at all surprising if royalty and statesmen book their holiday stay in any of the Imperial, Sultan or Raja Suites. Think unsurpassed elegance and grand style where you can get to live an imperial life.

The Imperial Suite is a duplex with 2 bedrooms and en suite bathroom covering 390 square metres! In a secluded corner of the property its majestic stateroom offers direct access to a private pool and spacious pool deck and lagoon. The dining room featuring a grand piano and glass chandelier seats 10 persons.

There in total 18 amazing suites where the Honeymoon, Executive and Lagoon Access suites measure 60 square metres.

From the dining options the beach front Ocean Terrace – Beach Front Dining & Oyster Bar will be pinpointed for its magnificent culinary experience.

The stroll there after dark from any of the low-rise wings, take guests on snaking walkways through lush illuminated gardens, including Balinese figurines here and there, and where a special kind of grass plant gives character to The Laguna Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua Bali.

Some guests enjoy spa treatments past twilight in any of the gazebos placed in the vicinity of the beach with its fresh wind.

Upon the visit, Chef de Cuisine Bastian Mantey, who has worked in some of Europe’s finest Michelin-starred restaurants, has imposed his innovative and creative talent to ensure every meal is a culinary experience. On that he delivers.

Ocean Terrace offers multiple dining seating options - under a thatched roof, under a Balinese wooden roof, or a breezy al fresco close to the beach.

If the timing is right, as on this occasion, the sky is not only lit by stars but also by the moon.
