M Hotel - Singapore business district's preferred hotel

When choosing a business hotel in Singapore M Hotel - the only one on the market - is certainly a preferred choice for corporate all the way to SME:s, in addition to weekend holiday-makers who also frequent this establishment. The long and narrow high-rise with its distinct façade melts in well with the business district but to add up to a truly metropolitan oasis which M Hotel is a spa and an outdoor pool are also included, hidden on the 9th floor.

Opting for the M Club as guest also comes with rewards such as enjoying a vista f the harbour’s 24-hour activity from the private club lounge and where the highly friendly staff seem to know Mr so-and-so the minute you enters the door. Admittedly this is no unique feature but here it is done in genuine style and you get that extra valuable service worth paying for.

And M Hotel does work by the motto of: 'Knowing exactly who you are is exactly our business'. The hotel’s butlers will note the details of ones needs.

 

How one feels welcome when enjoying the breakfast there, sipping on the cappuccino during the day while having meetings or working on the laptop, or when then evening the peak of day takes places place in the club lounge: Time for complimentary bar including delicious wine and cold & warm canapés up until 9 pm; which is by the way a suitable hour to venture out in the city for more entertainment, or just to take the lift down to J Bar, one of downtown's premier contemporary bars, for Martinis served Shaken, Not Stirred (1 for 1 on all Martinis all night long, Happy Hour 5 to 8.30 pm. on housepours and selected bottles.) Enjoy its unique seats in the form of Semi-Talani seats (Sushi restaurant style seating for the connecting Restaurant J, offering authentic Japanese cuisine) indoor, and huge white armchairs outdoors on the terrace overlooking the harbour and surrounding skyscrapers. Here a live band also entertains certain days of the week.

 

If staying on the club floors a S$50 voucher is also given to utilize for a spa treatment at Haach@ M, situated on the gym and pool floor. Haach offers Body Care, Face Care and Massage (Velvety Swedish-Ancient-Shiatsu-Harmony Indonesian to choose from).

 

But, you don’t have to be a VIP to enjoy special service such as this, executive assistant manager Charles Lai points upon this visit to the hotel. On the contrary it starts already in the lobby: “Unlike other hotels we have a sit-down check-in. We’ve also designed the rooms to suit the needs of the guest, so I guess you can say we are a very functional hotel.”

 

Indeed M Hotel (413 rooms in total including M Suites) is designed for those of us who are practical; appreciating style and adoring function.

 

To mention one detail the working table facing the window is crescent-shape, so there’s more space for you to work with.

 

Should your room face the harbour you can meanwhile gaze out at world-famous shipping with the cargo being loaded on and off the ships, and where cruise ships can also be seen; mainly on weekends.

 

Charles Lai also explains that at M hotel they really believe that it is possible to surpass customers’ expectations, as long as the staff are empowered. “I am always asking staff to think out of the box.”

As a business corporate hotel, M Hotel has also been a prototype for its sister hotels within Millennium and Copthorne) and came with several firsts: safety box in the right size to store your computer, the first including Wi-Fi and broadband, those amenities which not so long ago could not be taken for granted. It was also the first hotel in Singapore with I-phones.

 

“We strive to be the best new generation corporate hotel,” says Charles Lai. “I refer to the businessman today who is mobile, always travelling and sensitive to the luxuries of life. He or she can be as young as 24 years old or in their late ‘50s. At this point, we are really excited about this stage of the hospitality industry in Singapore. Singapore already being a hub for professional meetings, two integrated resorts with a multi-billion-dollar casino, entertainment and convention complexes are on the horizon, due to open by 2010.

 

‘Celebration’ is also a keyword at M Hotel in the most Magnificent way. It turns out they are specialised on weddings, having special features such as dressing and private couples getting married, including wedding planning services which are quite popular.

 

M Hotel provides consultation and on the wedding day the hotel provides the wedding couple with the red carpet treatment in the Bridal Room. Going to great lengths to make this a Magical Moment M Hotel bubbles up the Jacuzzi, place tea lights around the suite and serves Champagne and hot tea.

 

Wining and dining includes Semi Buffet Dinner or all-day western and Asian delights at Café 2000, or international buffet lunch in The Buffet on Level 2. The Buffet also serves the specialty called Hotpot dinner, where broths are brewed for hours to perfection.

 

As a final mention M Hotel incorporates a rather interesting ‘reward programme’ in its coloured stress balls, which comes in a set of six. Each time a guest returns to our hotel, he or she will be given a different coloured stress ball. Once the full set is collected, the guest will receive a present from M Hotel’s trendy team.
