Omni Marine Introduces a New Concept in Phuket

  (Mon 22 Sep 2008)

Set to be Asia’s first RIB Charter Company

Omni Marine on Phuket, Thailand is set to be Asia’s first RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) Charter Company. The inspired design of such vessels is ideally suited to the needs of marine activities, particularly for charters.

What separates RIB’s from other vessels, such as speedboats and sport cruisers, is the character and individual identity.  They offer a high level of safety, are unsinkable and give a remarkably smooth ride, even in high waves or windy conditions. Add to this the seer fun and adrenaline rush of moving through the water at speeds of up to 60 knots, and you have all the ingredients for a unique and invigorating charter experience.

RIB’s will not only appeal to thrill seekers, but also to those who enjoy cruising at more relaxed speeds to explore the beauty of Phuket’s abundance of tropical islands, beautiful anchorages, amazing beaches, or even the maze of caves and hidden inlets in Phang Nga Bay.

What’s more, Omni Marine recognizes that visitors arriving in Phuket sometimes wish to be whisked away to their final paradise destination right away, and in response to this demand, now offer quick, easy and safe transfers between Phuket and Krabi’s multitude of islands.

Where the Dream Began - The story of Omni Marine started in Koh Lanta back in 2003. There main focus, at that time, was speedboats, where they established themselves by working with some of the top end hotels on the island. After this initial success they moved their main operation to Phuket and started being an agent for yachts and servicing the high-end luxury market. They operated not only in Phuket, but set up operations in Trang and Krabi as they recognized the potential of the emerging luxury charter market in the region.

The Fleet of RIB’s – Having acquired their first Marlin Luxury RIB, named Silver Cloud 1, in 2005, Omni Marine started charter operations in Phuket. The RIB, from Italy, achieved notable success and now the company has decided to launch a fleet of RIB’s this coming season. They will start operations with  Luxury RIB’s ranging from 22ft to 27ft in length and powered by 450HP engines.

A Diverse Range – They will continue to offer a range of charter vessels to suit the exact requirements of their charter clients, as the slogan "just add water" suggests. They have a diverse range of high quality charter yachts that include such names as Ferretti, Riviera, Princess, Sunseeker, Wellcraft and Marlin.

New Developments - The latest exciting marine project for Omni Marine is a ‘Riva, Super-America’ that has been refitted to cater for clients seeking luxury charters. The concept is a floating boutique hotel that offers guests the freedom to discover enchanting islands, private hideaways, or to enjoy a choice of charter activities including scuba diving and experiencing the cultures and smiles of traditional Thai villages.
