19th TTG Travel Awards 2008, Bangkok, Thailand

  (Sat 12 Jul 2008)

13 New Awards get Added to its Stable

The annual TTG Travel Awards is moving ahead with the times and adding a whopping 13 new awards to its current list, bringing the total number of awards to 72. This is in bid to ensure relevance and continuous engagement with the industry.

With the addition of these new awards, TTG Travel Awards hopes that more players will step up and help shape the landscape of the region’s travel and tourism industry, providing better products, facilities and services. The onslaught of Integrated Resorts and Boutique Hotels have been become common scene in many Asia-Pacific countries and is one of the propelling reasons for including these new awards among others.

TTG Travel Awards 2008 shall be including the following new awards to its list:
Best Hotel Representation Company
Best Boutique Hotel
Best Integrated Resort
Best City Hotel – Singapore
Best City Hotel – Kuala Lumpur

Best City Hotel – Manila
Best City Hotel – Bangkok
Best City Hotel – Hanoi/Ho Chi Min

TTG Asia Media’s Managing Director Mr Darren Ng says, “Our industry is moving at unprecedented speeds. Therefore, it is ever important for our Awards to continue being recognised as the barometer for a travel trade organisation’s standard of excellence and achievement. The addition of these awards will serve to be more inclusive towards establishments such as Hotel Representation Companies and the Integrated Resorts.”

The annual Awards are segmented into four categories – Travel Agents Awards, Travel Suppliers Awards, Outstanding Achievement Awards and the Travel Hall of Fame Awards. Winners of the Travel Agents and Travel Suppliers Awards are determined by votes cast by fellow travel trade professionals, while TTG editorial team will decide on the winners of the Outstanding Achievement Awards. Organisations that have won at least ten times in the TTG Travel Awards will be inducted into the elite family of the Travel Hall of Fame.

Voting by TTG readers across Asia Pacific for the Travel Agents and Travel Suppliers Awards categories have started since June 9, 2008 and will conclude on August 4, 2008. Winners of the TTG Travel Awards will be honoured during the prestigious 19th TTG Travel Awards 2008 Ceremony and Gala Dinner on October 9, 2008 at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok. 700 eminent international travel trade professionals are expected at this event.
